Communication
The ability to communicate information and ideas in writing, visually, and orally are vital components of a professional engineer's or scientist's preparation for a successful career. The Campus Writing Program addresses these components by coordinating the required CSM core course LAIS 100 Nature and Human Values, a Writing-Across-the-Curriculum initiative, and the LAIS Writing Center.
In addition to integrating writing from required core course work through one's major discipline, as well as in Humanities and Social Sciences graduation requirements, LAIS also offers the following oral communication courses:
Important Announcements and Policies:
- LICM 501 Professional Oral Communication, is required for the Ph.D. in Geophysics.
- Communication courses may not be used to satisfy the Humanities & Social Sciences General Education Restricted Electives Requirement.
