Bio
Sue Tyburski was born in Buffalo, New York and grew up in Houston, Toronto and Pittsburgh, where she attended Carnegie-Mellon University. She fell in love with the West during a summer job in Yellowstone National Park in 1976, and shortly afterwards made Denver her permanent home. Sue received her J.D. from the University of Denver College of Law in December 1985, and was admitted to the Colorado State and Federal Bar in May 1986. She practiced labor and employment law throughout the West for 20 years before joining the LAIS faculty. Sue has an M.A. in English Literature and a B.A. in English and Philosophy, both from the University of Denver. She teaches Nature & Human Values, as well as a variety of courses involving law, literature and communication skills. Sue also serves as a Writing Consultant in the Writing Center.

Scholarship
Sue Tyburski will be presenting “Seduced by the Wild: Audrey Schulman’s Journey into the Arctic Heart of Wilderness,” on October 26, 2006 at the Western Literature Association’s 41st Annual Conference in Boise, Idaho. A portion of her Master’s thesis, “Wallace Stegner’s Vision of Wilderness,” was published in Western American Literature, Fall 1982.
